A founder-led welcome

Marie knew the history. She wanted visitors to taste it.

Marie Ducote-Comeaux, a former Louisiana history teacher, created Cajun Food Tours after experiencing food tours in other cities and seeing a way to tell Acadiana’s story through its kitchens.

Today, local guides such as Jay Steiner and Whitney Ross connect visitors to Lafayette, Vermilionville, Cajun culture, and the people who keep the region’s food traditions moving forward.

The result is a tour company with a simple idea: the fastest way to understand a place is to sit down at its table.
